Des unités de dessalement d’eau de mer ont été installées afin de répondre aux besoins grandissants de la population locale et touristique. La commune a également mis en place un réseau d’assainissement collectif qui recueille les eaux usées des hôtels et des habitations, et qui les amène vers deux stations d’épurations où elles sont retraitées. Parallèlement à ces progrès nécessaires au bien-être de la population, les élus de l’île privilégient le maintien des traditions en favorisant les manifestations culturelles et religieuses qui rythment la vie polynésienne. La population de Bora Bora compte 35% de jeunes de moins de vingt ans. De gros efforts sont consentis par les élus, le Pays et l’Etat afin de proposer des formations qualifiantes qui permettront à ces jeunes de participer au développement d’une société dont nous ambitionnons qu’elle soit la plus harmonieuse possible. As a Blue Flag certified beach, Plage Hotel Sofitel Marara, French Polynesia, France undergoes regular bathing water quality testing throughout the season.
