The Blue Flag programme is run by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and is one of the world's most recognised voluntary eco-labels. Duni, Burgas, Bulgaria has held the Blue Flag award since 1996.0, reflecting a long-term commitment to the programme's 33 annual criteria — covering bathing water quality, environmental management, safety and services, and environmental education. The beach is managed by Duni AD.
On-site facilities include nearby parking, a beach kiosk, trained lifeguard supervision during the season, and accessible facilities for visitors with disabilities. Entry to Duni, Burgas, Bulgaria is free of charge.
The sea is clean, safe and calm with a gradually sloping bottom making Duni ideal for family holidays, enabling even small children to safely splash about in the water. Lifeguards are on duty 9-18 from1June till 30 September. The wide bay is sheltered against northern winds, making it ideal for a range of water sports. At the north end, a breakwater running parallel to the beach provides an area of calm shallow water ideal for getting the hang of windsurfing or sailing. Behind the beach, the landscape is hilly and forested, with small cottages designed in the traditional Bulgarian architectural style. From early spring till late autumn the air carries the fragrance of sea and forest.Duni is a modern, comfortable and attractive holiday resort built around a large semi circular bay, 30 miles south of the city of Bourgas . The area is naturally beautiful with a lush green countryside and a superb sandy coastline.Duni holiday village is the perfect spot for people fond of sports and for families with children. The resort consists of three main self-contained parts, each with its own original architectural style and ambience: Pelican, Marina ,Panorama.The swampy Alepou lagoon close to the Duni beach resort hosts a plethora of resident and migratory fauna as evidenced by the cacophony of bird, animal, and insect sounds arising from it. The sand dunes on the beach side bear a profusion of sand lilies. During the spring, a colorful riot of wild flowers, highlighted by bright red poppies, blankets both sides of the road.
